Language is an access barrier, and so are region, country-specific examples, and local legal literature. Curated versions are reviewed so the argument works in the reader's language and context.

The International Law Textbook is conceived as a multilingual and multiversion project because a paywall-free English text does not by itself solve access.
Translations are curated rather than generated as simple textual equivalents. Each edition is reviewed for legal accuracy, conceptual fidelity, readability, and natural expression in the target language.
Where appropriate, versions may also include region- or country-specific examples, literature, and explanatory references developed in cooperation with people who know that teaching context.
The aim is to let teachers and students work with a reliable text in the language and setting in which teaching, study, and public discussion actually occur.
